City of Pontiac Experiencing Housing Boom
Published October 24th, 2005 in Uncategorized.Today’s Oakland Press features an article on a housing boom in Pontiac. Though the city has a high percentage of rental homes, a shift to ownership has begun.
From the Oakland Press, “One of the main forces shifting the housing balance toward homeownership in Pontiac in the past eight to 10 years has been the reappearance of the long-absent development community, which suddenly is putting up hundreds of homes each year in the city. Builders such as Bloomfield Hills-based Pulte Homes and Neumann Homes, an Illinois company that acquired Troy’s Tadian Homes, have shown an interest in Pontiac.
“We’ve been very successful in initiating and encouraging large-scale housing development here in our city,†said Mayor Willie Payne. “We are providing housing like never before.â€
This is great news for Pontiac and for Oakland County!
