Found this in an email from a friend.

Landscaping:

–return on investment of 100-200% if done well, the highest of any
type of home improvement

–enhances sales appeal, increasing the actual speed of the sale

–homes with excellent landscaping can expect a sales price about 6 to
7 percent higher than equivalent houses with “good” landscaping

–a mature tree can have an appraised value of between $1,000 and
$10,000

–landscaping can add between 7 and 15 percent to a home’s value

–poor landscape design can decrease property values by up to 10%

Here more from this article.

Shrubbery planted too close to a house can reduce the appraisal value. The most common mistakes made by do-it-yourself landscapers were planting trees and shrubbery too close to each other and too close to houses, fences and other structures.
