New federal and state legislation helps “homeowners to qualify for tax breaks totaling as much as $500 by installing qualified products such as energy-efficient windows, insulation, doors and heating equipment” according to this article in the Freep. The credits are eligible on purchase made between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2007, so get out there and make some upgrades!
