Happy International Women’s Day
Published March 8th, 2006 in Uncategorized.Today is my favorite Soviet holiday. International Women’s Day. When I lived in Ukraine, it seemed like this was the holiday that EVERYONE looked forward to, and celebrated with gusto. There all the men ran around town delivering flowers, candy and other gifts to the important women in their lives. Offices began the party early with big meals, champagne (and vodka) and gifts.
