Certainly others of you out there in the blogosphere will have the answers to my questions.
Today I was googleing something, and I landed on Googlebase. It looks like ActiveRain has managed to send our ActiveRain blogs there. Thanks, Matt, Caleb and Ben! This certainly is another ActiveRain benefit. If you are a real estate professional who has not joined, ActiveRain, you should.)
I guess my search must have had to do with “THE Tomato†and I found his AR blog listed on Googlebase. But I didn’t find his “real†blog, nor did I find my “real†blog or any of the other “real†blogs I looked for. Here is my ActiveRain blog listed in Googlebase. And here is the Tomato’s.
I tried to add MIOaklandCounty.com to googlebase, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it. Can any of you wise bloggers help with this? Or is there a reason nobody else is doing this yet?
The next question is about adding profiles to googlebase. Is anyone doing this? Is it something that will help us to get found?

I’ve put my main web site on Google Base in the past. The problem I find with it is that Google Base entries expire after 30 days and you have to keep resubmitting them. And basically I’m too lazy to do that. I’m also not sure it’s worth the effort. People don’t (yet) seem to use GoogleBase to look for sites/blogs. They use regular old Google for that….
On the other hand, putting listings on Base seems like a good idea. We haven’t got a live buyer from Base, but have had a few email inquiries. And seller’s like to hear “I’ll put your listing on GoogleBaseâ€. Our web site provider automatically syndicates all out listings to Base, Trulia, Yahoo, etc.

So, I wonder if AR is going to resubmit our blogs every 30 days?
I figured out how to add a profile, and that too only lasts for 30 days. I doubt I would do it again.
But I am wondering if adding a blog to googlebase, especially if it is a new one, like mine, will get it indexed more quickly. I haven’t had a visit from the googlebot since Sept 10, and I don’t have many pages indexed.
