Sorry for the screaming folks. I’ve been telling people this for a while. They think I am crazy. After all, I work on a commission. When houses sell I get paid.
I do know some people who will take a listing no matter what, hoping that something will stick. For them, its a numbers game. The more they list, the higher the probability that they will get paid on something. Hey, worst case, maybe they’ll pick up a buyer for something else or a neighbor will see their sign and list with them too.
That is not the way we work.
So when my favorite Ann Arbor blogger, Todd Waller, put out this post recently, I said, “AMEN TODD!” Please read Todd’s blog.
Call me crazy, but if you are testing the market, seeing if someone will bite at a your price, or anything like that, I want you to sit tight and stay where you are. Don’t put your house up for sale now. Wait until the sellers who need to sell are done. You’ll be better off in the long run. Right now the market is too competitive for anyone but the ‘must sells.’
Sellers, be part of the solution. I implore you.

While I visit this site on a regular basis, this particular visit is in response to the http://www.activerain.com blog tour.
Fabulous stuff as always. Thanks for the link to Todd Waller, I love reading other interesting stuff

We do not see much of that, here. But man! What an awful idea! My neighbor is trying to sell his home in Florida, and the market is flooded w/ listings, partially due to “lets just see what happens†folks. It is making it SO hard to get enough interest, now… (and thanks for the blogroll mention!!)

Hi Maureen…I agree with you 100% only people who “have to†sell should be on the market at this time. NH is pretty cold (slow)…
I ‘m going to have to spend sometime exploring your blog.
Thanks

Monika, if some of it is deja vu for you, I’m sorry. But I am glad you are stopping by! We have a lot of Rainers starting to come out of the rain to see what is going on these days. Very fun.

We are seeing the withdraws come in fast-and-furious right now. Something like 100 in the last two weeks — just in Delaware County. So I think our “speculators†are starting to get the clue.
