RISMedia picked our broker, Doug Hardy, to call when they were doing a piece on Sotheby’s new eGallery. Our office has actually had a big screen TV in the window for about 2 years, and it formerly ran pictures of our listings. Now its tuned in to show estates with palm trees, villas in Tuscany, and just about anything else Sotheby’s offices have listed. On these cold, Michigan days its kind of a nice change of scenery.
My only question is why we don’t have the Sotheby’s Realty cable channel yet? It would be much easier to watch from home.
Here is what Doug had to say, and there is a link to the article at the end.
Douglas H. Hardy, president of SKBK Sotheby’s International Realty,
located in Birmingham, Michigan, has eGallery as the centerpiece on his
firm’s front window display. “This a tremendous advantage because
today’s clients understand the importance of marketing properties
worldwide,” said Hardy. “eGallery has greatly reinforced our firm’s
reputation as a local real estate leader that can market our area’s
most significant homes to luxury home buyers throughout the world. Not
only has it allowed us to better market our clients’ properties,
eGallery has become a strong recruiting tool to attract new talent to
our firm.”

This is actually very easy for anyone to accomplish now. Look at the new product announced by Apple yesterday. The little box called Apple TV (works with a PC or a Mac). It would be very easy to configure one of these to connect to a wide screen TV and do a playback of Photos, Video Tours/Podcasts and more. http://www.apple.com/appletv/

Michael, I agree. Not so hard to do.
I do think that the international feed is kind of interesting. Maybe not technologically, but it does make for more interesting viewing.
