Ice Attack

Yep, its icy out there in Oakland County today. I took this picture in my front yard. Who ever said Michigan gardens are not beautiful in the winter? I woke up secretly hoping to see that the schools would be closed.
And, while the weather is clearly icy, it appears that the real estate market is warming up. I had a very busy morning in the office. A couple of new buyer clients called, one moving here from Boston, and we’re getting them set up to see houses. Dmitry is off this afternoon showing homes to a new client from General Motors. People keep thinking that the market is bad, but we are seeing a HUGE increase in activity. Our office is growing at a record pace, as we hear of other offices shutting their doors. I’m happy to see new faces.
I ran into an old client in Starbucks the other day. Brad asked me how the market was and I could see him bracing himself for doom and gloom about sluggish home sales. He was surprised when I told him that we are busy, our sales are strong and that predictions for the Birmingham/Bloomfield market are up this year according to CNN/Money. And i really see a huge increase in call volume, web site traffic and inquiries. I think we are going to have a very busy spring market in Oakland County.

Maureen, the site looks great! I can’t believe I haven’t been here before. Love the article too. Business is strong in the Pacific Northwest as well.
That silly frog scared the dickens out of me. He popped up like a real frog…nothing like creative marketing to get your blog noticed…cool Buckwheat!
Maureen ~ your post is heart warming. It’s so nice to have good things to talk about when everyone is bracing for the negative. Keep busy and keep selling Birmingham…
