Regular readers will notice a new look on miOaklandCounty today. The limey green was getting to me and Dave Smith from the Real Estate Blog Lab warned me that my images were not showing up with internet explorer. I profess to be a Firefox gal myself, and I don’t venture back over to IE if it can be avoided. But with no images displaying, it couldn’t be avoided! So bare with me for the next few days as I work out some kinks with this theme.
And you can be honest. Is it too orange??? I need to learn how to change the banner.

This is one of the themes a friend picked out who is going to start a WP Blog except I think maybe the orange v1 the circles version… or flavor….that is Orange….

Looks MUCH better already. I happen to like orange. I wanted to change my banner and make it personal but - I have not a clue how to write CSS. So, its staying. I like changing my blog colors almost as much as my hair color!

Justin, I’ve been on wordpress since September. Still getting used to it. It’s powerful but intimidating!
Christine, I don’t change my hair color, but I think this is my 4th blog theme in as many months. Eventually I will settle down. Maybe.
Maureen, I like the circles one better, but I thought it was a black background, which I find hard to read.

Ooooh I don’t like black backgrounds either… stick with this…

Maureen, In the images folder to your theme there is a file head.jpg the image is 1000 X 200 You can create any images of that same size and name it head.jpg and it will replace the image in the header.
It is a good idea to rename the existing head.jpg rather than over write it.
If you want to get the page menu out of the header you can quickly comment out that section of code and it will disappear. I don’t usually delete code I don’t want, I comment it out so I can put it back if for any reason I find I want it back.
start the comment at the bottom where you see ul class=â€menu†and close the comment after you see the /ul close to the bottom. That will remove it from the header.

Love the new look. I have done this with a couple of blogs, eventually, I’m going to put local pictures over the beautiful one on our site; but right now it is just blah, so I want to get some new pics when the snow falls and then when spring comes to Delaware.
