Test Test Test

This is only a test.

The last few days I have been having troubles with wordpress, again. I’ve got two posts that just are not showing up even though they say they are ‘published’. So I am tossing this one up to see what it does. Sorry to bore you with this.

UPDATE:  You can see both of the posts if you click on “The Great Realtor Race” in the link to Recent Posts on the sidebar.

Test,

Yes, I love testing. I’m sorry if I found this an interesting post. But it is certainly one I can relate to.

I can’t think why they wouldn’t show up. I’m sure you have tried edit and save.

Have you tried copying the content of the posts then delete the posts and create new ones.

Just a thought

Thanks, Dave. I think you might be the only one out there who finds it interesting, but that is OK!
I’ve copied them both and tried to republish. That is not working either. I just put a post on the theme support page and am hoping they will have an idea. WordPress is not for the masses!

Maureen,

Which version of wordpress are you running?

Send one or both to me in an email. I have a couple of test blogs I can try them on and see if they will publish.

Then I’ll let you know what I find.

Maureen, check the date and time of your post. If the date somehow got set in the past your post will show up out of order but it will show up. If it somehow got saved in the future, it will post at that time.

Okay it looks like your plugin is not doing its’ job. Is this the mbla plugin? It should be re-sizing the picture. There should be a setting to change it to something like 40X40 pixels. Most avatars and gravatars are 80X80 pixels and they are resized by interfaces such as MyBlogLog on your front page.

Back to the comment above. WordPress will allow you to post in the future. It can be very handy if you are on a writing spree or going on vacation. WordPress will post your library of articles at the time and on the date that you set in the system.

I have to use this with Rich and I writing because if we both post at about the same time one of the articles doesn’t get noticed. So, I set mine to post at 5:00 AM and we set his to post at around 1:00 PM. It works out well.

This is a test….

Maureen, bear with me. I have temporarily hijacked your post while I check some things.

Here’s what seems to be going wrong with the avatars. If I remember correctly, and you are using the MBLA (MyBlogLog Avatars) plugin, you can choose between keeping a local copy (on your server) of the avatar which is faster, or not keep a local copy and query the MBL server every time. I just uploaded a new version of Floggie to the MBL site. This version is only 80X80 pixels. Your screen is still trying to use the old settings so it is distorted.

Also, I noticed your comment up above. If you are having trouble with WordPress, let me know. WordPress is written in the PHP language which is one of the languages I know. I have re-written much of the code on SoundBite so it behaves the way I want it to. I can probably help you sort things out. WordPress has a built in interface that will allow you to edit the code on many of the display pages. I can send you the code and tell you where to put it to make the changes you need.

Maureen, instead of the word test, next time try exam and see if it generates as many comments :=) There is nothing more frustrating than trying to figure something like this out, good luck, I’m still trying to figure out how to get my IC domain name released to my new blog. But the above post looks really nice :-)

Ben K 01.30.07 at 6:42 pm

Well, I’m learning something, particularly if I start using the MBLA.

Dave Smith 01.30.07 at 6:56 pm

Maureen,

There is a new version of the MBLA. You should get it and install it and see if it fixes this avatar issue.

Make sure you do the install according to the instructions.

Deactivate
Remove the old single .php file
Install the new folder
Reactivate

And that brings us back to Test.

Buckwheat 01.30.07 at 8:29 pm

Maureen, I’m afraid to leave any more comments because Bloggie gobbles up the page. But…

If you want to change the bottom of your MyBlogLog widget to the same color as the top (orange), Open your widget options and look for the part of the code that looks like this:

c_color_bottom_bg=005A94

Change it to read like this:

c_color_bottom_bg=FF9933

Presto!

Maureen Francis 01.30.07 at 10:15 pm

OK, I made the MBL changes. But I don’t think that had anything to do with my original posting problem. I really appreciate the offers of help. Dave, I am going to send you one of the posts that is bugging me and we’ll see where you get. I have checked the time stamps and that is not the problem…

Mark, yet another reason for me to be jealous of Rich. He has you to figure this stuff out!

I think your test rates a 92. It’s got a good beat and you can dance to it.

Maureen Francis 01.31.07 at 9:34 pm

Thanks, John. I was worried you wouldn’t like it.

Maureen McCabe 02.01.07 at 6:49 pm

14 comments and they aren’t getting points? And it is on a test, test, test post… you are one heck of a writer! ;-)
