Metro Detroit’s most expensive home on the market, 21000 Turnberry in Novi, is under contract. We’ve talked before about the return of the luxury home buyers in Metro Detroit, and this sale confirms our observations.

Turnberry went under contract after 598 days on the market and has not yet closed. The list price for the 13,777 square foot estate was a cool $14.5 million. Congratulations to the listing agent, Chris Knight of Coldwell Banker!

Nice-looking landscaping, although I’m surprised a pool is a desirable feature in MI. Is that typical of high-end homes?

Pools are not uncommon here. There is an audience for them and there are those who would not want one. I am sure our pool per capita is no where near that in Nevada, but we hold our own. We have lots of inland lakes in addition to the great lakes, so water activities are very popular in this state.

I understand that luxury home sales are generally up nationwide. Is this true for your market?
