If I can not get in to your house, I can not sell it

Sad but true fact: If I can’t get into your house, I can’t sell it.

  • If your locks stick and are fickle, get ‘em fixed.
  • If your house in on the market, make it easy for the agent to get in. Long notification requirements, your presence, or the required presence of the listing agent are things that can prevent showings.

This morning I had trouble getting in to 2 of 6 houses I was trying to show. One I did not get into at all. Guess I will have to sell one of the others…

Don’t let that be your house.

Oh that is so frustrating - sell the ones you saw - I hope none of them are your listings - well of course they aren’t you would have had it taken care of - duh

Don’t forget the security system, those are fun to get through. Some times sellers are there own worst enemy.

It is Not only fickle locks that bother me. It is things like * Shown by Appointment or * Call agent first ( and they don’t answer ) or how about this * Showings between 1pm to 3pm on Thursday.

When I encounter homes like this I generally view it as a non-motivated Seller that will try to control the entire transaction.

With a lot of product to show,it is just a lot easier to show the Vacant Lock Box homes.

So very true!

The very least a seller should is make sure the agents and their buyers can get in!

When I’m unable to get a lock open, I tell the buyer that the one thing they don’t teach us in real estate college is how to open doors. ;-)

Also, if there’s a storm door, and the lockbox is on the main door - DON’T lock the screen door!

Oh! Man!
Drive 25 miles and the key or lockbox just doesn’t work! Mama don’t let your kids grow up to be Realtors.
The Buyer looks at you and sees Idiot
written all over your face.
