City of Bloomfield Hills Taking a Look at Itself From Buyers’ POV

Kudos to the City of Bloomfield Hills for the efforts they are taking to find out why buyers chose (and don’t chose) to live in Michigan’s wealthiest zip code. We received this email yesterday from the City asking for our input. Competition is high for home buyers right now, and unsold homes result in falling property values which leaves municipalities struggling to juggle budgets.

“The City of Bloomfield Hills is preparing to establish a Master Plan to satisfy the needs of current and future residents. It would be helpful to understand from your realtors [sic] why perspective buyers choose the Township, Village, or the City of Birmingham to live, instead of our City. If Sotheby’s could provide some detail on home buyers preferences, and amenities missing in our City that led them to purchase elsewhere, we could include that information in the Master Plan discussions. In return, your efforts would be discussed during the planning commission meetings and noted in the newsletter.”

Got an opinion? I would be happy to pass it along to the inquisitive leaders of Bloomfield Hills.
