CHOCOLATE?? Vacant Home Staging Decor and “Thank You”

Godiva Chocolate Room

Hello………my name is Marianne, and I’m a Chocoholic.

Any news story with a reference to chocolate grabs my attention. So does a headline which includes furniture.

Imagine my delight when I found a story on WDIV’s website which features both of my obsessions. Godiva has created an all-chocolate room in Manhattan! As a Valentine’s Day promotion, they have expertly molded a fireplace, mantle, chandelier, dining table and chairs, sofa (arms only–the seat is not chocolate) among other items. For the complete story, follow this link.  I would definitely like to see this in person……..and perhaps, have a taste?!

For home stagers like me who wish we had alternatives to our local furniture rental stores, could this be a viable option? Think of the possibilities! A lovely milk chocolate foyer table, adorned with a vase of marzipan flowers. Dark chocolate candleholders with white chocolate pillars. A dish of truffles and cherry cordials on a mint chocolate side table. You’ve heard of edible undies? How about an edible bed? OK, I won’t go there!

After the house is under contract (which, no doubt, will be soon) the seller gets to devour the furniture as their “Thank You” for using our services. Maybe they’ll even share with their real estate agent. It’s brilliant, don’t you think?

Just make sure the air conditioning works!

OH COOL! You found photos of the room! I did a search and couldn’t find any. Thanks for adding that Maureen!

I’m fantasizing about leaning on the mantle, sighing, and taking a chomp out of it! How cool!

I’m sure the squatters will appreciate that you left them such yummy sweet treats;

Oh and the mice too.

Desperate realtor tricks. Drop the price already. Drop it lots more!
