Oakland County Home Sellers: Don’t Forget The Little Things

in Metro Detroit,Seller Information

Sometimes the smallest little thing can prevent your home from being shown to a potential buyer.  I hate to state the obvious, but somehow we run into the same things over and over.

This video is a favorite of our 5 year old. If you haven’t seen it yet, I think you will like it too.

Sellers: Home Buyers Are Not As Enthusiastic About Snow as Bailey the Dog

There are about 9 inches of fresh snow on the ground here in Birmingham MI.  Maybe more.  It is pretty to look at, but it is a nightmare for showings if it is not shoveled. I know. Obvious.  But I was out trying to show a few houses and the buyer’s requested that we not go in a couple where the paths had not yet been cleared.  They might have missed on their dream house, but it wasn’t worth it. Dog might be man’s best friend, but a Metro Detroit home seller’s best friend in the winter is the shovel, or a snow removal service.

Sellers: Lights are a Bright Idea

I have a couple of vacant listings.  Nothing says uninviting more than entering a dark home on a cold Michigan night.  We went and put in lights on self timers so that the showing agent would not have to arrive to a dark house.

Think like a buyer and make your home as appealing as possible.

I agree with you, Marianne. Actually your phone should be ringing soon–like tomorrow.
