Tightened credit markets and a sluggish real estate market have sellers looking for ways to seal the deal. This week I saw a Birmingham builder do what he could to take control of the situation and set his properties apart. His answer: the land contract.
Not only is he offering land contracts, he’s offering [...]

I found some pictures of Birmingham on Flickr that present a nice slice of the city. The photographer has his own blog, The Incorrigible City, where he shows the multi-faceted face of Detroit. I find his message hopeful. Take a look at this post to see what I mean.

Birmingham Michigan
Birmingham Michigan
I had been meaning to use my new flip video to put together a little video of Birmingham this fall.  Never got around to it and now I am glad I didn’t because my effort would have looked very amatuerish next to this clip.
At about 34 seconds into the piece you will see [...]

The Metropolitan Consolidated Association of Realtors released third quarter 2008 home sales statistics for Oakland County today, compiled from information they received from Realcomp, our mls.
We’ve highlighted the report for markets that we serve, like Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Royal Oak and Troy.

I was driving down Harmon Street in Birmingham today and I was compelled to jump out of the car to take pictures of a couple of homes with beautiful flowers in front of them. After our especially long winter, the bright colors seem even brighter this year.
Thank you to this Harmon Street homeowner [...]

In typical Michigan fashion, we experienced hail, rain, wind and bright sunshine all within an hour span. The weather did not prohibit all who turned out for today’s parade from having a great time.
I just realized I did not get any pictures of the Bassett Hounds! Next year…

I’ve just finished up a whirlwind two days with clients in from Miami who were looking at luxury homes in Birmingham and Bloomfield. Their comments gave me a fresh perspective about our area and about our housing market. It was good to hear how we look from the eyes of those seeing the area for [...]

This week “No U-Turn Signs” popped up in the center of Old Woodward. Seems like a crazy waste of money to me, and its more ugly signage.
No U-Turn laws have not been enforced in downtown Birmingham for years, much to the frustration of many law abiding drivers like me. Just yesterday a Hummer attempted to [...]
